A catch-all mailbox is one that captures all the emails sent to invalid email addresses. For instance, if your address is info@domain.com, but someone misspells it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Only one mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and thus you will never miss emails because the other party has an obsolete address or has made a mistake. The downside of configuring a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving lots of spam messages, but this problem can be solved using anti-spam filtering software. It is also crucial to remember that a mailbox with an activated catch-all feature cannot forward inbound messages to a third-party address.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting

If you host a domain name on our cloud hosting platform and you’ve got a shared hosting account, you’ll be able to enable the catch-all functionality for any mailbox that you set up under the domain. The Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section comes with quite a lot of features, but it’s amazingly simple to use, so configuring a catch-all mailbox requires just one single click of the mouse. All the email addresses that you’ve got will be listed in this section alphabetically and you will just need to click on the "Catch-all" button for the particular address. Our system will alert you if there’s already another catch-all mailbox enabled for that domain or if the one that you want to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding activated, so you can either disable the latter feature or pick another mailbox. Deactivating the catch-all option is just as simple and requires yet another mouse click on the very same button.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

A catch-all email address can be set up with a few mouse clicks in case you’ve got a semi-dedicated server with us. The hosting account will be administered via our in-house built Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you’ll be able to set up mailboxes with any domain registered there. To activate the catch-all option for a specific mailbox, you will need to click on the button with the same name, which will be next to each email address. Disabling this feature can be accomplished in the exact same manner and will not require more than one click either. In case the catch-all feature has already been enabled for a certain domain, you will get a warning notification. The same goes if the mailbox that you wish to be a catch-all one has email forwarding activated, as our system will never disable or replace anything automatically.
